Tara photographed my wedding in August 2006 in the midst of madness and mayhem! There was a rain storm, a hair drama, a move of ceremony from outdoors to indoors. Tara was there, making art of those moments, putting us at ease and helping to calm the storm! She photographed each special moment of my ceremony without making a peep or anyone noticing. She was unobtrusive, gentle, yet knew exactly how to direct us to get the pictures that we wanted. She was flexible as the weather improved and helped move the entire wedding party outdoors to capture the most beautiful pictures of the day. Her services begin from the moment you speak to her to discuss packages and extend through the wedding day to these months following, where she creates beautiful digital flush albums that tell the story of our special day. I'd be happy to discuss my experience with Tara and her services. Was Tara easy to work with throughout the planning process and the day of your wedding? Yes she was. Through the planning process, we discussed various packages and came up with a solution that blended my needs, the needs of our families (my husband and my own) and our budget. She has a photo check list where you can list the names of your family members and mark certain photos that you want her to ensure that are taken so you don't have to remember (and trust me you won't, I forgot LOTS of things on my wedding day due to the excitement of the big day!) She also asked about my taste and style, and if there was anything specific I had seen that I wanted to create in a photograph. One of those things for me was using my veil which was long and flowing - and we have some great shots of my husband and I wrapped up in the veil that came out beautifully. - On the day of the wedding Tara showed up right on time as I was getting ready. I was having a hair NIGHTMARE and was very upset. Tara was very calming and reassuring and helped capture some funny moments of us fixing my hair disaster! It also rained all morning and she was very flexible in terms of moving the ceremony inside and finding a way to catch the light and the pictures of the ceremony came out gorgeous (have you seen them online? It is in Tara's gallery under Jeff and Lucia on the smug mug wedding page.) When the rain stopped she managed to shuffle us all outside - and that was a chore let me tell you - because all the family and the wedding party wants to do is eat and have champagne - and we caught some great pictures and you would have never known it rained all morning. - The thing that struck me the most is that she managed to catch every important moment throughout the ceremony, reception, cake cutting, speeches, toasts, dances, etc, and yet I truly cannot remember ever seeing her. This was important to me because I have been to weddings where the photographer is always shoving the lens in your face and ruining the precious moments between you and your new husband. She was totally unobtrusive in that respect. Were there any hidden costs with her packages/pricing that I should be aware of? Absolutely not. I paid exactly the package price that we negotiated. Is there anything you would have changed or done differently before, during, or after your wedding in respects to your photos? I may have paid for additional time. I had Tara for 6 hours (I actually think she stayed longer for some special moments) but the time goes by so quickly! In regards to product did you receive everything and was the quality of the photos what you were expecting? We absolutely received (and are receiving --- I am still trying to pick out photos because there are so many great shots to choose from) everything that was included in the package. The quality surpassed my expectations and more importantly my mother is thrilled. On a side note, I am a "retired" actress/singer and have been dealing with photographers my entire career.
